On the morning of the first Sunday of every month, members of the church and community gather for stimulating conversation focusing on a selected topic.
On Sunday, March 6, the topic will be “Homelessness: What Does It Really Mean?” with guest speaker Dorothy Edwards. Dorothy experienced being without shelter and is now employed and a counselor. All are welcome to join us for what is certain to be a thought-provoking discussion.
We will meet at 8:45 am in the St. John’s Room before the service.
Listen to my letter to Pastor Dan Hooper of Hollywood Lutheran Church about our recent work with the Pasadena/Altadena Reintegration Council “PACT” meetings and my interest in learning from him and Hollywood Lutheran members who work with incarcerated persons.
Our final midweek Lenten Bible study turned into a conversation about how my own views on ministry and leadership have changed over the last several years. You can listen to my attempt to summarize these thoughts by clicking on the podcast link with this post for Christ the Shepherd – Continuing the Conversation.
In Mark’s gospel the women who come to Jesus’ tomb learn that Jesus left before they arrived. To find him his disciples have to go to Galilee where Jesus began his work. This week’s Bible study asks how we might find Jesus alive in our local community where people are doing things that make God smile.
